Head Lice Home Remedies

Head lice are tiny parasitic insects that infest the hair. They feed on blood drawn from the scalp. Head lice are usually found on the scalp, in the area behind the ears and around the neckline. The problem of head lice is most common among school-going children, especially girls. Head lice are more likely to thrive in hair that is not washed regularly. They also spread easily from one individual to another through direct contact. Sharing of objects such as towels and combs can also transmit the lice from one scalp to another. Individuals affected by head lice are likely to experience severe itching of the scalp. In some cases, tiny red bumps may also develop on the neck, shoulders and scalp. In severe cases, the lymph nodes may swell and the individual may develop a fever. Although there are many medicated shampoos available, many people prefer natural remedies for head lice. Head lice home remedies involve the use of natural ingredients.
