Kids Hairstyles

Hair styles for kids should be both creative and simple. Creative because as most children grow up watching adults they like to try out most of the styles that adults use, and simple because it is normally the parents who have to do the child’s hair. Most importantly as young kids rarely sit still, it is best to try out hairstyles that can be managed easily and will not become an impediment while they run around and play. The child should be comfortable with the hairstyle otherwise they might just end up pulling their hair out of place and end up looking the complete opposite of what you intended.  If your kid has shoulder length hair or shorter, you could go in for a hairstyle with bangs. This hairstyle is a simple one which is easy to maintain for young kids. With a fringe on the forehead and inch above the eyebrows and a blunt cut all around is a quite popular hair style for kids. If your child has long hair which falls down her back then it is best to keep the hair tied rather than leaving it loose. You could braid or plait the hair into one thick pigtail or divide the hair and braid or plait it in two with one on either side of the head.

The French braid is also an option for those with long hair. This is done by taking hair from both sides and braiding it from the middle of the top of the head right down till the end. Always remember that braiding hair makes it grow faster so you might have to trim your kid’s hair at least once a month. Other than this another very popular hairstyle for kids is the pixie cut. This style is for kids with very short hair and it is then cut and styled almost like a boy’s. It is one of the easiest styles to maintain both for you as a parents and even the child will not find it awkward. Apart from this the ponytail is an ever fashionable hairstyle for kids. One ponytail down the back or one on either side of the head, held up with brightly colored ribbons will make a kid’s appearance more appealing. You could also take some hair from the top of the head and tie it up as a pony tail and leave the rest of the hair loose. Avoid using pins and clips for kids’ hairstyles because the kids would end up pulling them out and damaging their hair.
