Brazilian Hair Straightening

It is the desire of every girl to have long and straight hair and those who have curly hair are more eager to get straight hair that shines. Women spend a lot of money in salons to get hair straightened for different occasions for which there are a number of treatments available that they can choose from and the Brazilian hair straightening treatment is one of them. This method is also known as the Brazilian Keratin hair straightening treatment primarily because the main ingredient used in it is keratin. It is said to make you hair soft and smooth while it becomes poker straight. This treatment could be carried out on any hair type and is not a permanent treatment due to which hair comes back to its normal state within a period of 8 weeks to 4 months. However, it gives you the liberty to curl your hair or straighten it again after the effect has gone which is not possible in case of permanent hair straightening. The process for the Brazilian hair straightening begins with the hair being washed with a special clarifying shampoo that does not contain any sodium in it after which it is blow dried thoroughly with the help of a blow dryer. The hair is then carefully sectioned into smaller parts wherein keratin is applied to each strand of hair after which it is straightened with the help of a flat iron. This makes the keratin penetrate into the hair. Each section of the hair is straightened up to 5 times with the help of a flat iron. The hair is then, allowed to stay this way for the next three days after which it is washed and conditioned and is now ready for further styling.

There are however, a few drawbacks to the Brazilian hair straightening method and even though the product used is not very expensive, by the time it is passed onto the stylist the price on an average is $300. The treatment also takes a long time depending on the length and density of your hair. Earlier users of the Brazilian hair straightener have also said that the more often you wash your hair, the faster the results disappear. Hair often gets damaged with extensive use of treatments and thus, is bound to lose its natural shine and moisture. Moreover, you have to use special shampoos and conditioners after undergoing the hair treatment.
