Frizzy Hair Remedies

Frizzy hair can be unattractive and unmanageable. Hair is likely to become frizzy when there is loss of natural moisture. This leads to dehydration of the hair. The hair becomes dry, coarse and dull. Due to insufficient moisture the layers of the cuticle starts disintegrating and this makes the hair brittle. Some people have curly and frizzy hair because of hereditary. In other cases the hair may become frizzy due to continuous exposure to hot weather and humidity. Excessive use of chemical hair treatments such as perming, coloring and straightening could also lead to frizzy hair. Some also suffer from frizzy hair due to overuse of chemical based hair products such as shampoos, gels and hair sprays.

Frizzy hair remedies involve the use of natural ingredients. A popular natural treatment for frizzy hair is the application of a protein mask to the scalp. Add two egg yolks to warm water and mix well. Apply the mixture on the scalp and along the hair shaft. Leave it on for an hour and then rinse with lukewarm water. This treatment can be used twice every week. This hair pack helps to hydrate the hair follicles. A fruit mask is another beneficial frizzy hair remedy. Mash one ripe banana and one ripe avocado. Mix the two fruits and massage into the scalp. Leave it on for fifteen minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Oils such as olive oil, castor oil and coconut oil are very helpful in providing moisture to the hair and stimulating proper hair growth. One can massage about three tablespoons of olive oil into the scalp and then rinse and shampoo after an hour.

Another popular frizzy hair treatment involves the use of beer. Take some beer in a spray bottle and spray on the hair after shampooing. Once the beer dries, the odor will disappear and the hair can be styled as per your desire. You could also apply a solution of apple cider vinegar and water to the hair after a hair wash. Cold water helps to flatten the hair cuticle. Hence rinsing frizzy hair with cold water is beneficial. Dry, frizzy hair must be conditioned regularly. Use mild conditioners that do not contain chemicals. Frizzy hair is prone to split ends and therefore trimming the hair after every six to eight weeks is advisable. Avoid using blow dryers to dry the hair as this could cause irreparable damage to the hair.
